Week 28 - New Field, Druid Polish

This week we finished up all the code for every asset in the game. That means all buildings are working, items have been working for a while, all abilities are working, all skills are working and all the systems in the game are finished. For the rest of the development time we will be adding levels, and artwork. As we add artwork to the buildings and other systems we will also be explaining what they do and showing them off. There will be a lot of new things to see from now on and we are very excited about it. Check out the new druid Kiril worked on this week!

Week 27 - Archer polish

This week I have been working on making some of the buildings more usable. We decided to make the hospital into a building that can instantly heal one unit from injury for a certain cost. It also provides the passive ability to save units from death on the battle field, but we felt this was under powered alone. Kiril has also been working on the archer this week. He has redesigned and polished all the archers animations. We also made sure he has an element of his design that changes color. check it out!

Week - 25 Shop & campaign Screen mock-ups

This Week I coded a special mid battle shop that appears 20% of the time after a battle. In this shop you can buy one of 3 items with salvage. You can also fight a challenge level in order to get a building blueprint. I created a mock-up for the shop art, but it still needs to be animated.

Kiril also worked on a mock-up for the campaign screen this week. When it is finished it will have 3 animated portals that will lead you to procedural missions, and a map that has campaign missions on it.

Week 24 - Skill Screen Clean up

We ended up skipping a week of marketing/dev log posts because we wanted to focus on internals. I setup a system for checking out units that makes it much easier to have multiple armies. It also makes it easier to use units and items in buildings. Kiril spent the week cleaning up the skill screen background. The skill screen background slowly becomes a fancy throne room as you level up!

Kiril also cleaned up the sprites for the farmer from the back! Here are 3 farmers getting murdered by pigs. :)

Week 22 - abilities almost finished

This week we are nearing the end of our work on the 34 abilities. We are also almost finished with the civ points skill screen so those updates will be posted next week. For now enjoy these game play gifs.

Week - 21 UI Eye Candy

This week we worked on finalizing the Civ points tree screen. Kiril made art of the dialog box that allows you to buy skills. I also made an animation that goes off when you purchase the skill.

You can acquire Civ points by retiring units of that respective color or class. Here is a video of me creating the animation above.

We worked a lot on internal stuff this week. For example over the past month we have completed 29 of the 34 abilities we need to make for the units. We don't quite have the art for the abilities yet so for now check out these new game play gifs!

Week 20 - More Throne Room Levels, William Wallace

This week Kiril spent time on the throne room artwork. The throne room changes as you buy skills. We wanted it to start from essentially nothing, so kiril painted a fantastic outdoor background as the starting throne room.

After you put your first points in you will get a real building to start your throne room in. About mid way through the game it will start to look more like this.

This week we also worked on William Wallace's abilities. He gains 20 health for each unit you have in your army. He also gives 2 attack to each unit for the amount of units you have in your army if he is the only friendly unit in his row. William Wallace also has the ability to slam units in a row to the sides of him like so.
