Week 19 - New Knight, Dungeon Hallway

This week we created a new environment called the Dungeon Hallway. This will serve as the entry point to the first castle. I spent about 9 hours drawing bricks for this one. At the end I added some torches for a touch of motion. Here is the process of creating it.
 

Kiril also polished up the Knight this week. He has been largely redesigned and he is looking even meaner than before.

This week I also worked on the earl's ability more. His ability Schmooze allows him to copy another unit's ability in a certain direction. If you use multiple earls pointing towards each other he can be used almost like an electrical circuit that caries abilities.

Week 18 - Earl Throne Room Lvl 2 & Armor

This week we worked on replacing the flags in the throne room with windows and flowers when they hit level 10. This gives a feeling of change and progression when the player revisits the skill tree.

We also plugged in 20 pieces of armor for our procedural equipment system. The armor falls into 5 major categories. Shields have high defense, mails have high health, boots have high attack speed, gauntlets have high accuracy and helmets have high critical chance.

We also added the earl's ability this week! He can copy the native passive ability of any unit in a certain direction instantly. This means he can become a buffer a healer or a spell caster in an instant during battle making him the most versatile unit in Raven's Path.

This was not an easy ability to create so it came with some very unique bugs along the way. Like this one...

Week 17 - Weapons and buff Stack Animation

This week Kiril worked on creating art for all 20 types of weapons in Raven's Path. The weapons are procedurally generated, but they fall into certain categories based on their highest stats. Here are some of the weapons you can collect in Raven's Path!

We also replaced an effect that goes off when you give a unit a buff of any kind. Here is the animation process of creating that effect.

We wanted to show off how the buffs and rings work in game. This blade maiden has both a red attack buff ring, and a yellow accuracy buff ring equipped. By moving her quickly all the units can be kept buffed. The buffs only last a short time but they stack when two different units cast the buff on the same unit. The attack buff turns into fire when stacked.
